Moving through time
Luther's ninety-five theses of 1517 split the German church and, thanks to printing presses, the argument spread faster than bishops could suppress it. Selim I conquered Syria and Egypt in 1516-17, doubling the Ottoman Empire, and Spanish expeditions probed the American mainland.
1517 belongs to Luther in Europe and to Selim in the east. The Ottoman half of the story is playable in Assassin's Creed Revelations, set in Constantinople in 1511-12, and H. Rider Haggard's Montezuma's Daughter adventures through the Mexico of 1519. Open the 1510s on the StoryTerra map and explore its stories by place.
