Moving through time
The emperor Tiberius withdrew to Capri and left Rome to his prefect Sejanus, while in Judea the prefect Pontius Pilate balanced an unpopular occupation against a restless priesthood. It was an empire running on routine, until an execution in Jerusalem started a movement Rome would spend centuries trying to suppress.
Jesus was crucified around 30-33 CE, and Sejanus fell from power in 31 CE. The Passion of the Christ reconstructs the execution itself, and Robert Graves's Claudius the God continues into the imperial court of the 30s. Open the 30s on the StoryTerra map and explore its stories by place.
