Caribbean piracy peaked as crews like Blackbeard's blockaded Charleston in 1718, the year the pirate was killed off North Carolina. In London, the South Sea Company was being fattened for the bubble that would burst in 1720, and in Barcelona, Bourbon troops prepared the siege that would end Catalan self-rule in 1714.

Blackbeard's death in 1718 more or less ended the pirates' golden age. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag sails those waters from 1715, and Sánchez Piñol's Victus narrates the 1714 siege of Barcelona from the losing side. Open the 1710s on the StoryTerra map and explore its stories by place.
