Moving through time
Britain's Stamp Act of 1765 taxed American colonists who had no MPs, and colonial boycotts forced its repeal within a year. Catherine II seized Russia's throne in 1762, Captain Cook claimed New Zealand and eastern Australia, and in Korea a crown prince was executed in a rice chest in 1762.
The Stamp Act crisis of 1765 taught the colonies joint action. Alex Haley's Roots follows Kunta Kinte from Gambia to enslavement in 1767, and the Korean film The Throne reconstructs Prince Sado's death in 1762. Open the 1760s on the StoryTerra map and explore its stories by place.
